Summer Workshops

Thank you for your support! Our spring workshops were huge success and we are excited to continue our part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our summer workshops will be online and the proceeds from our workshops will be donated to local hospitals on the frontline in this battle against COVID-19.

About our Workshops

Supporting our Local Hospitals Battling COVID-19
In these challenging times, we've decided to offer our summer workshops online this year and we will donate the proceeds to hospitals on the front lines battling the COVID-19 crisis.
Expert Instructors
Almost all of our instructors are high schoolers who are alumni of the Kennedy Science Olympiad team and have competed at the Science Olympiad National Tournament. We're excited to share our passion for science with younger students through these workshops.
Wide Range of Topics
We're excited to offer new Math and Physical Science workshops this summer, in addition to offer our popular workshops which cover a wide range of different topics and fields. Feel free to sign up for whichever ones interest you!

Physical Science Workshops: Fundamental of Physics and Chemistry

Description
Physics and chemistry are two of the most popular science courses at the high school level. In this comprehensive series of 22 workshops, students will acquire a strong foundation of knowledge and will apply what they learn to solve problems, which will introduce them to high school-level science and allow further exploration of the physical world.

The physics workshops will use an algebra-based approach to investigate motion: both how to describe it (position, velocity, acceleration) and explain it (forces and Newton's laws). We will also be carrying out investigations on momentum, energy, circular motion, and Kepler's laws.  In the chemistry workshops, we will start with an exploration of atomic structure and periodicity, and continue on to chemical bonding, states of matter, stoichiometry, reaction kinetics, redox, acids/bases, and fundamental organic chemistry. We will also be covering thermodynamics in uniquely combined workshops between physics and chemistry. A review of the math necessary for these workshops is included for free.
Schedule
Early June (detailed schedule, syllabus and sign-up coming soon)
