Gardening For Good

A Sustainability Initiative

About

Our Mission
Sustainable Gardening for Good is a student-run organization under STEMBoost that specializes in growing fresh, sustainable produce and donating it to non profit organizations. We do this with the larger goal of providing organic, local, and farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to people in our community, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds. Our two currently established chapters are based in the Bay Area, California, U.S. and in Chattarpur, New Delhi, India. We have over
50 beds and have donated 1,700+ lbs of produce to food banks.

Our Principles
As a non profit, volunteer-based organization, we are committed to the following principles:
  • Production of local, seasonal, and organic fruits and vegetables
  • Support to the community via donations of produce to non-profit organizations
  • Promotion of sustainable agriculture
  • Responsibility towards others within our society

Our Practices
Along with our deep-rooted focus on serving needy families in our community, we hold a strong sense of environmental awareness throughout our work. Our organization is dedicated to viable, green, and eco-friendly practices, such as sustainable agriculture and clean cultivation. The use of minimally invasive farming methods and rejection of harsh synthetic fertilizers and pesticides when growing our crops allows us to produce food that is not only healthy for consumption, but that continues our goal of sustainability and environmentally conscious work.
